In a future release, Genesys Cloud will introduce Focus Mode in the Agent UI, giving agents the ability to expand supported applications to occupy the entire available workspace, excluding persistent elements like call controls for a cleaner, distraction-free view.
なぜこれが重要なのでしょうか?
Today, many agents use complex applications like Scripter or 3rd-party CRM tools inside the Genesys Agent UI. These apps often require more space than the current XL panel layout allows. When apps exceed those size constraints, it can lead to cramped displays, reduced readability, and unnecessary navigation clutter, making it harder for agents to stay productive and focused. Focus Mode addresses this by letting agents manually expand supported apps (whether they appear in the mainstage or tool panels), to fill the entire workspace. This gives agents the space they need to work efficiently, especially when dealing with visually rich or complex tools.
Previously, apps within the Agent UI were restricted by fixed panel sizes, with XL panels being the largest available option. There was no native way to temporarily maximize an app beyond those constraints without fundamentally altering the layout or adopting complex responsive design solutions.
What does Focus Mode provide?
- More space for complex apps: Apps like Scripter or 3rd-party CRMs can now expand beyond XL panel limits for better readability and usability.
- Cleaner work environment: Non-essential navigation and other apps are hidden, reducing distractions and visual clutter.
- Easy to use: Agents can enter or exit Focus Mode with a simple button in the app header.
- Consistent experience: The system remembers which app was in Focus Mode, and restores it during re-engagement when appropriate.
- Seamless integration: Focus Mode works within the existing Agent UI framework, avoiding the need for disruptive changes to layout logic or design standards.
Looking ahead
Focus Mode provides an immediate, practical solution to space limitations while laying the groundwork for future features like dynamic sizing and responsive layouts. It strikes a balance between meeting current customer needs, and supporting long-term improvements to the Genesys Agent experience. Agents can expect an intuitive, more flexible workspace designed to support the real-world demands of modern, visually complex applications.
